Therapy and coaching both use established techniques and offer a supportive, non-judgmental space, but their focus is different. Psychotherapy (also known as “talk therapy” or just “therapy”) frequently centers on addressing mental health issues, processing negative emotions, and exploring past experiences to support emotional healing. Coaching is highly goal-oriented and forward-focused, designed to help you set and achieve goals so you can reach your full potential.

Is working with a coach same as working with a consultant?
No, coaches are not consultants, mentors, experts, or “gurus”. Their role is not to provide instructions or impose solutions based on their opinions. Instead, they leverage their training and experience to collaborate with you, tapping into your own unique strengths, values, and experiences.

What qualifications do coaches have?
Coaches in the DoingCoaching.com network are professionals trained in evidence-based coaching practices or very experienced in their field with undeniable exeprtise. Each coach undergoes a careful vetting process to assess their coaching education, training, expertise, and experience. To ensure they consistently meet our high standards, we conduct rigorous ongoing evaluations through client feedback, automated and manual reviews, comprehensive performance metrics, and peer assessments.

After I’m paired with a coach ,can I switch coaches if I’m not satisfied?
We are usually able to find the right coach at the first try. However, if after speaking with your coach you feel this coach isn’t a good fit for you, you can easily switch to a different one. Change coaches as many times as you like until you find the right fit.

Are coaches healthcare providers?
Coaches are not licensed clinicians. While some coaches may also be healthcare providers or have expertise in adjacent areas, they do not act in this capacity while providing coaching services. Coaches will not offer any diagnosis, treatment, prescription of medication, or other clinical services. For mental health disorders or concerns, please seek help from a licensed psychotherapist or psychiatrist.

Speak with your coach in both live video sessions and through ongoing messaging via text or email.

What does a coaching session look like?
Sessions are structured conversations with your coach in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Each session centers on specific and tangible objectives to keep you moving forward.
